"The counselling department is dealing with students, and the RCMP is investigating." says Marketing and Enrollment Manager Steve Raper. The student is in critical condition in hospital. RCMP say the female pedestrian was hit at 15th and Lyon Streets about 7:38 this morning. The east bound lane of 15th is closed as police have a traffic reconstructionist, and a traffic analyst on the scene. The female was hit by a one ton delivery van around 7:38 this morning.. The Commercial Vehicle Inspection team responded to the scene to see if the van was over loaded. The van has now been towed and is undergoing a mechanical inspection which Police say is normal procedure in this type of investigation. Police have ruled out alcohol as a factor, and are now investigating to establish the speed of the van.
