Smithers, B.C.  -Government should set up the rules and then get out of the way of business was the message delivered by Nathan Cullen MP Skeena/ Bulkley Valley, before the 2008 Minerals North Conference being held in Smithers.

Cullen says as forestry and fishing drops off in this region it is important that we work towards assisting mining in their developments in this region.

"We can either as MP’s
(1) support projects
(2) Stay Neutral
(3) Oppose a project and work aggressively against the company."

The environmental climate has changed Cullen said and we must be prepared to change with it. "Government has told industry that they had to change the way they treated the environment and I believe that they responded to that request with the great strides that have been made toward improving the climate. Business today is using far less energy and is contributing far less to the air shed quality. I am  encouraged by the work that the mining industry has done in this regard" said Cullen.

Great strides? Why? Because you talk about it more? Hmm. Just my opinion. PG is waiting on this issue too: AIR QUALITY
Would this be the same Nathan Cullen who said he would vote against gun control before the election, and then instead, voted to give them more money?
Another flip flopping politician, with a short memory!
Problem is,Mr.Cullen thinks we probably forgot about that little faux pas.
We haven't.
