Quesnel, B.C. – RCMP in Quesnel are looking for information that will lead them to the man  responsible for a sexual assault last night.

Police say  the assault took place between 9 and 10 last night in an apartment building in the 1200 block of Lark Avenue on the west side of Quesnel.

The victim, a 26 year old female, was home alone when a person knocked on her apartment door and identified himself as a delivery person.  She opened the door and the man entered the apartment and attacked her.   She received minor injuries during the assault and was treated and released from GR Baker Hospital.

The suspect is described as

An older white male with a bleach blonde crew cut hair cut, he was wearing a black hooded sweater.

Police remind everyone that you should not open the door to your home to anyone unless you know them.  Check through a window, or a peep hole before answering the door.  Keep all doors and windows locked and report suspicious persons hanging around your apartment complex or neighbourhood to police.

That's my definition of a coward.
Foo738, thats not a coward, thats more than a coward
Not to take away from the crime, but why would you open the door to a delivery person at 9:00 p.m...unless you have ordered pizza???
It is irrelevant as to why she opened the door - she did, she didn't deserve to get sexually assaulted. The guy who knocked on her door is a rapist animal and I don't give a "rat's ass" if it happens in a back alley or your own home - rape is rape and I hope the animal is caught!
Runner46, stop and catch your breath, you're getting dizzy.

How can you say something like that ?
Are you stoned or drunk ?

What do we do, shoot everybody who knocks at the door ?

It wasn't her fault at all.
I agree it is not her fault, the guy is scum.
But why would you open the door to someone you don't know at 9pm because he says he is a delivery guy?
Perhaps the poor women is handicapped in some way and doesn't know any better.
I thought as a society we had broadcasted a very clear message that opening your door to strangers is not a good thing.
Remember people don't open your door to strangers. The world we live in is not a safe place anymore.
If someone came to your door and said they have a flower delivery - would you not open the door? I likely would have - many people would. Or how about a parcel?

We don't know why this woman opened the door and really, it's irrelevant.
