Prince George City Council will be asked to give third and final reading to three seperate bylaws which clear the way for the City to borrow, more than $27 and a half million dollars.

All three  had to go through the counter petition process.  In each case,  4384 eligible voters  would have had to sign the counter petition to prevent the City from going ahead and borrowing the money.

In the first case,  the bylaw  is to  borrow $9,300,000.00 for the community energy distribution system.  Only 2 people signed against it.

The second is a two part bylaw that would allow the City to borrow $10,507,000.00 for mobile equipment and a further $2,885,000.00 for computer hardware and software replacement.  Just one  person signed the counter petition on this matter.

The third bylaw  would allow the City to borrow $4,911,500.00 for general road repairs and sewer and water projects.  There were no objections to this bylaw.

What is the community energy system? Is this more money to bail out Terasen? And mobile equipment sounds like an air craft for the Mayor. Just before an election they will finaly do some street repairs.Dont they know that money cant grow on trees as the pine beetle is killing them.
Thank you krisb. Hey I have a bridge for City hall I wonder if they would buy it? Could be used to replace the CS bridge.
