Almost a year ago Spruce Kings Head Coach Ed Dempsey was hoping to guide his team to a national junior A championship. Now Dempsey is being investigated by the board about his conduct on the bench. The Spruce Kings last two team captains Brayden Penner and Ryan deVries have gone to President Darcy Buryn about the issues they had with Dempsey's coaching style. The investigation against the man that has guided the Kings since January 2004 is being led by Kings Secretary Kurtis Taylor. Former players along with Kings personnel will be talked to. The investigation could take between three or four weeks. Dempsey who has also coached in the WHL for the Prince George Cougars and Kamloops Blazers still has two years left on his current contract.

Hey, he can't tell those kids what to do! Does'nt he know that they have rights?
The children are probably objecting to the inhumanity of skating drills, and maybe the outright cruelty of double drills if they have performed poorly (played like their big brothers the Cougars) He is probably guilty of trying to coach the kids as though they were grown ups.
metalman.
I would be thinking if they are "investigating" their own coach that there is something a little more serious than his coaching "style".
hmmm look at who was complaining. I'm sure there is no link between complaints about Dempsey and deVries not being drafted.... so if you don't get picked it's the Coach's fault???
Does this really surprise people?
Why do you think the cougars got rid of him. There were many, many issues there.
I doubt there are many coaches out there who have had the entire home building chanting 'we want a coach'

dempsey prob was molesting his players in the shower
Not called for, joe187. You should not talk like that about people.
