Chetwynd, B.C. - RCMP are investigating a suspicious death following the discovery of a body last night on Jackfish Lake Road.

 

Chetwynd RCMP say they got the call about the body just before 8 last night and their preliminary investigation has not provided an exact cause of death.

 

The gender, race and possible age of the deceased is not being released at this time to allow the Coroner’s Service and investigators time to complete a positive identification.

 

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

 

North District Major Crime investigators along with the Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services have been called in. A detailed search of the area is being conducted today.
