Prince George City Council has tabled an item that would call for a decision on what to do about King George V school.

The Heritage report puts forth eight options,  which include ripping down the 60's and 70's additions and preserving the original building and making it part of the new Duchess Park School, or, tearing down the whole thing and making a commemorative area in the new Duchess Park School.

The matter will come back to Council at the end of the month after the School District has had an opportunity to offer input.,

Come on now. How many times does this building have to undergo yet another report? It's deteriorating before our very eyes. Anytime a building is left vacant, it begins to fall apart.

The city has received 8 options. It can eliminate most of them as not being an option. The writing has been on the wall of this building for years. Tear it down and sell off the materials for those who want to hold onto a memory of a school gone by.

I'm sure that many city developers already have plans for that property.

For now, it seems that a replacement school is on the table. But, it seems only a short few months ago that parents had to rally for preserving Duchess School in any form. So, my call is that this is a short lived proposal.

Let's just save everyone a lot of time and effort and tear KGV down.Chester
Yes indeed Chester, I agree with you. Let's just do the Prince george thing and get rid of yet another heritage site.
