How about petitioning all our levels of government for a new holiday? We can call it "Vigilante Day". Just one day a year to catch up on our justice systems obvious shortcomings. Oh, yeah, and have a few cards printed up in case of a few obvious oversights, mistakes and misunderstandings if errors are made. Hey! It's only one day a year. Is that too much to ask?
Cops must have been too tuckered out from handing out all them there speeding tickets to bother with trying to prevent some real crimes.
These people need to be arrested, convicted, and put in Jail. Its highly unlikely that this will happen, in fact its highly unlikely they will ever be caught.

If people were charged and convicted for all crimes committed in this town, and sent to jail with an appropriate term, we would eventually get them all. We all know that the Police, Justice System, and Politicians do not want most of the pseudo criminals in jail because of the cost.

The Quinson area over the past few years has become a transit route for

people returning from downtown. They basically cut off fifth ave at Nicholson, Ogilvie, and Patterson, cut through the residential areas and come out around McIntyner Cresent. Late at night most of these people are in various stages of inebriation, and of course you are going to get some damage, and stealing. Most of them walk, however some drive.

This area is slowly turning into another **Hood**, however you will not find anyone doing anything about it. People leaving the bowl area to the miscreants and malcontents, and moving to the *new** suburbs is good business for Developers and Real Estate Sales Persons, but not good for those that have to stay.
Palopu,

Although you pose some interesting theories, I suggest that in this case the timing of the incidents if drawn on a map would indicate a vehicle was used. Given the repetitive, juvenile nature of the crimes, would you be open the theory that these might be youths out on an early morning toot after a few hours of sleep???

As for good business for the Realtors, as I am one, I take offense to your theory that it is good business for developers and Real Estate people. I live in the City, I work down town, and I work with every walk of life. That includes properties every value, everywhere. No Realtor can survive on "new" properties.

I personally am saddened by this type of behaviour, and don`t think for a moment that it creates business for me or anyone else in our industry.

Au contrare, it chases business away !!!!
Thousands of male criminals are caned in Singapore each year for both violent and non-violent offences such as vandalism, overstaying one's visa or illegal immigration.

Caning is never ordered on its own, but always as an addition to a prison sentence.

The subject to be caned is strapped in a bending-over position to a metal or wooden frame. The punishment is delivered to the bare buttocks, the number of strokes being specified in the court's sentence. The rattan cane is 1.2 metres (3.9 ft) long and up to 1.27 centimetres (0.5 in) thick, considerably bigger and heavier than a school cane.

Prison + caning.
Don't even bother with any prison time. Just cane them, get the doctor to wipe away the tears, next a sit down face to face chat with the police and dump them on the sidewalk.

I doubt there would be many repeats.
I'm not really surprised. My car got stolen when I lived on one of the apartments off 15th Ave.
I had one stolen from there as well Sunshine, across from the old post office.
BC used to use a **Cat and Nine Tails** on prisoners, this was a whip with nine strands of knotted leather, and was administered to the Prisoners back. They later went to the **Paddle** which was a perforated leather strap that was administered to the buttocks.

These have all been eliminated along with the **hangman**
As far as I know the times listed in the Article are the times the incidents were reported to the police, and have no bearing on when the incidents took place. If you look at a map most of them took place between 5th Ave.and the bypass, and Foothills and West to and including the Mcintyner, Mcrae etc;. I stick to my theory.

Insofar as the Real Estate goes, the Prince George population has not increased in the past 10 years. The same amount of people leave Prince George each year as those that arrive (approx) There are a few more born each year than those that die but the differance in minimal.

Those people buying houses and building new houses are for the most part people who were in their 20`s 10 years ago. This group of people would number in the area of 10,000 to 12,000. In addition people are selling their houses in the bowl and moving to higher ground. College Heights, Hart Hiway, Aberdeen, etc; This leaves a higher number of rental properties in the bowl, which in turn means less maintenace etc; Thus the beginning of the **Hood** effect.

Take a stroll through the area of Quinson from Patterson to 5th and Ospika, 1st Ave West to Tabor, and West of Ospika through McIntynr etc; and you will see what I mean.

Having been in the area for the last 30 years I can see a significant difference,
