Prince George, B.C. – Police are hoping that if you have concerns about the driving behaviours of others, call it in.
Yesterday, they got a call about a white Jeep that was tailgating another driver from 10th Avenue on East Central then pulled in front of him nearly forcing him to hit the back end of the jeep. The suspect then followed the victim to an auto parts store parking lot,   got out of the white jeep, made a number of rude gestures and left.

This kid of road rage incident is exactly what RCMP are targeting this weekend. RCMP advise that if you find yourself in such a situation, call the local detachment and the RCMP Traffic Unit will deal with the matter. In many cases, such driving incidents can lead to further trouble such as disturbances n public places, or assault.

In this particular incident the information on the aggressive driver has been entered in the RCMP City Traffic Data Base for future reference and enforcement action if required.

just another day of driving around here.
ROAD RAGE, what a wonderful name for
some yoyo's inability to control their temper and actions.
A 5 year suspension of licence might be a deterant for these actions....as a minimum
If you report it what exactly are the police going to do?
PGDriver, the police will do ABSOLUTLY nothing!
Good time to have a cell phone and police speed dial handy. Of course, by the time it is called in and you get through to someone, the incident will be over. On top of that, you will not be as attentive as you should be driving under those conditions. If you dial 911, they will consider it abuse of the emergency number.

You are hooped in either way and left to your own devices. As has already been said, nothing will be done unless a collision or assault occurs.
Well you might be surprised...
so might I...
but the court system needs to send a message to these, what shall we call them, children?, that is type of activity will not be allowed without serious consequence.
I know...
I am a dreamer...
but I think it a good dream
Don't forget, without witnesses, nothing will ever happen.
Road Rage is not against the law, so the RCMP is unable to do anything. A crime must be committed before the RCMPolice can act - they will tell you they are not here to "prevent possible criminal activity", sure they might record the license number of the vehicle the irate driver is in control of, but . . . so what? I like the dream of a 5 yr license suspension, but it won't happen 'cuz it's not against the law to get mad.
Reckless endangerement .....

Possibly changing lanes without signalling ....

Driving too close to the car in front ....

.... etc. etc ....

Of course, we do not know what the driver of the other vehicle did to cause the individual to go through all that trouble of even stopping, getting out of the car and making rude gestures. I would think that something must have triggered the incident.
Tailgating is illegal, and it causes about one-third of all injuries, but the Attorney General reports that the police issue 60 speeding tickets for every tailgating ticket. If you phone the police to complain about tailgating, they will almost invariably tell you that there is not enough evidence for a conviction because the police did not witness it. Until the authorities get serious about tailgating education and enforcement, tailgaters will continue to intimidate road users.
Solution..Mix some 2 stroke oil in your gas.. No more tailgaters!!
My solution is my brake pedal and my big old heavy rear bumper on my red chevy truck.
So the message here is, don't screw with the guy in the red chevy truck.
