Prince George, B.C. - With a bid of almost $19 million, JJM Construction Ltd. has been awarded a contract to build a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Station (CVIS) and expand the Cariboo Connector  south of Prince George.

The work will be located on Highway 97, the Cariboo Connector, near Red Rock, and will begin in June  It will be completed in the fall of 2009.

The project includes:
* Building approximately five kilometres of Cariboo Connector into four lanes, separated by a northbound/southbound Commercial Vehicle Inspection Station.
* Incorporating Weigh in Motion (WIM) and Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) technology with the CVIS and four laning design.
* Incorporating intersection improvements throughout this corridor.

The station's new Weigh in Motion (WIM) and Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) technology will allow safe, legal trucks to bypass the weigh scale at highway speeds.

This will improve the efficiency of moving goods through the use of electronic clearance and roadside inspection.

We should have them do gravel removal from the mouth of the Nechako while they are here.

Question: http://www.jjmconstruction.com/projects_552.htm

Does this project mean that the berm and River Road will be restored by the end of June?
I would like to answer that for you Tiny however we will have to commission a study on that.
:-)
Sure it will be done by end of June.... If you are moving to Delta!
oops my comment should have read: ...the berm REMOVED and River Road restored...
the new scale should wring more money for the victoria coffers ,maybe build another convention center , at least contribute to the pay down of the two week multi billion winter games debt.hang onto your chickens here cometh the electronic tax collectors! and more debt-debt-debt for the taxpayers of B.C. don't think we will ever retire our current debt, more control given to the newyork banksters.thank you gordy for the deeper debt.
And thanks for moving those scales out of the BCR!
