Prince George, B.C. – Firefighters continue to mop up hot spots at the North Central Plywood and Interior Warehousing fire sites.
“These hot spots get buried, and they pop up every once in a while” says City Spokesperson Don Schaffer, “The crews are just making sure the sites are safe.”
Senior fire officials were consulting with company officials and insurance company representatives, and beginning interviews with employees who were on site at the time fires broke out Monday evening at North Central Plywood and Tuesday morning at Interior Warehousing.
A third fire began at a storage area where railway ties were kept.
It’s estimated the North Central Plywood plant is worth $80 million dollars and the damage estimate for Interior Warehousing is expected to be anywhere from $6-8 million.
