Hart SAAN Store to Close

Prince George, B.C. - By the end of the summer, the SAAN Store on the Hart, will be closed, throwing about a dozen employees out of work..

It is one of the 126 stores that will be closed over the next 8 -10 weeks.

It was just three years ago that Saan reopened 142 stores across the country having come out of court protection.

It has been just over 60 years since the first SAAN store opened in Winnipeg in 1947.

While no official closing date has been announced for the store on the Hart, the news release from the company says the “going out of business” sales are expected to last up to 10 weeks, “with some stores closing sooner than others.”

What a shame. I suppose Walmart makes things tough on the smaller chains like Saan stores.

SAAN's lack of business acumen was the problem, not Wal-Mart.

Business Acumen is the ability to understand the business implications of decisions/the ability to strive to improve organizational performance. It requires an awareness of business issues, processes/outcomes as they impact the client�s/the organization�s business needs.
