Prince George, B.C. – One man is in custody and faces charges related to the attempted theft of a truck.
Prince George, RCMP got a call last night from a person who reported hearing the sound of breaking glass near the Keg parking lot at George and 5th .
Police arrived on scene and spotted a man sitting in a   truck bearing the name of a Quesnel company. As police approached the vehicle, the man jumped from the truck and took off. Officers could see the trucks ignition had been tampered with and the back window to the cab had been smashed.
RCMP had a very good description of the suspect and called in the dog unit. A short time later, one of the dog units spotted a male who matched the description of the suspect. The male was detained. The male then took officers to a spot where he had hidden a radio he had taken from the truck. The 29 year old suspect will appear in court later today.
Police had the truck towed because with the ignition having been tampered with, the truck was easy pickings for any other vehicle thief.
