Prince George, B.C. –  Council unanimously approved an amendment from The Treasure Cove Casino for a permanent change to their liquor license to allow “patron participation entertainment” (dancing, karaoke, comedy club, music club and dinner theatre) where liquor is served at City Council tonight.

``We have entertainment, but people that attend cannot participate,`` said Casino Representative Steve Leech. `Now, we can have them dance at New Year`s eve and other times that we have entertainment that will allow that.`

The Liquor Control and Licensing Branch approved a temporary permit on January 24, 2008 which allowed four events within a four month period. These events occurred January through April and included musicians and dancing, dinner and a music band and a talent contest.

The Treasure Cove Casino submitted a letter stating no complaints or inquiries have been received regarding the noise and no R.C.M.P or ByLaw Services complaints have been received. A public meeting on April 29, 2008 was also held regarding the changes and no concerns were received.

From a recent rezoning application, The Treasure Cove Casino has entered into an agreement with the City which includes reducing a 6 metre berm and fence that acts as noise buffer to the adjacent neighbourhood to install a better fence which would help to decrease noise further.

;-)
*shakes head* remind me not to dance in the aisles when I see a sale...might force another business to apply for an amendment to their business license.

What silliness.
